Do you have directions to University Village?

From I-85, take exit 51 (S. College Street) towards Auburn. Follow S. College until you reach the intersection of Longleaf Drive (light in front of Walmart, just past Burger King) and take a left. University Village is the first complex on the left.

From downtown Auburn or from the AU Campus, follow S. College Street south towards I-85 until you reach the intersection of Longleaf Drive (light at Sonic, past Winn Dixie shopping center) and take a right. University Village is the first complex on the left.
Where is The Cambridge located?

The Cambridge is located directly across from campus, behind the AU Hotel & Conference Center.
What size apartments are available?

University Village: individually leased, single occupancy two and three bedroom units, each with private baths and walk-in closets.

The Cambridge: individually leased single & double occupancy residence-hall style rooms with all the amenities of an off-campus apartment.
What are the terms of the lease agreement?

University Village: The move in dates are during the first weeks of August and move out is July 31st of the following year. Both properties offer a limited number of shorter leases at a premium.

The Cambridge: The move in date is during the first weeks of August and move out is May 31st of the following year.
What are individual leases?
Individual leases mean that each person signs their own lease agreement on their assigned bedroom. This means that you are not responsible for your roommate’s rent in any way.
What is included in the installment payments?

University Village: Rent includes monthly pest control, cable TV with HBO, high-speed internet access, garbage fees, water & waste water. Holding a lease with us also includes full use of each property's individual amenities such as our on-site game room, fitness rooms, tanning beds, computer lab, TV lounges and the pools & hot tub.

The Cambridge: Rent includes furniture, housekeeping, on-site meal plan, high-speed internet access, pest control, garbage fees, water, waste water, and electricity (all utilities). Holding a lease with The Cambridge also includes full use of the game room, TV lounge, computer lab, tanning bed, pool and fitness center
What amenities are available at the properties?

University Village: 2 swimming pools, a hot tub, fitness center with a cardio room and weight room, 2 tanning beds, a car wash, a beach volleyball court, 24/7 computer lab, game room, TV lounges, a movie theater with stadium seating, and an indoor basketball court.

The Cambridge: fitness center, computer lab, game room, stand-up tanning bed, and a pool.
When is rent due? What are the late fees?

University Village: Per our lease agreement, rent is due on the 1st and late on the 4th of each month. There is a $75 late fee attached automatically to any rent paid on or after the 4th. If rent has not been paid by the 10th, an additional fee of $50 is charged.

How can I pay my rent?
Residents can pay by personal check, money order, and cashier’s check in the office/at the front desk. For an additional $15 service charge, residents may also pay by Visa or Mastercard (credit or debit). Our online resident portals allows our residents to pay via electronic debit, including automatic debits, without any additional charges.
What furniture is included in the furnished apartments?

University Village: Each Bedroom is furnished with a full size bed, a desk, desk chair, and a dresser. Each Common Area is furnished with a sofa, a lounge chair, a coffee table, and a kitchen table and chairs.

The Cambridge: Each resident is provided with a bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser.
Are appliances included?

University Village: All built-in cabinetry and shelving as well as the major appliances are included with all units: refrigerator, oven/stove, dishwasher, microwave, and full-size washer and dryer.

The Cambridge: We offer residence-hall style living, and as such, our units do not have kitchens. Residents are welcome to bring mini-fridges and microwaves, and we have an on-site grille that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
How big are the rooms?

University Village: The bedrooms are approximately 11’ by 13’. The Kitchen area is approximately 12’ by 10’. The Living Room area is approximately 12’ by 18’. The total square footage of a two bedroom is 981 square feet. The total square footage of a three bedroom is 1188 square feet.

What are the window sizes at The Cambridge?

Are pets allowed?

University Village: Pets are allowed on the premises provided that they meet the criteria set forth by the management. Pets allowed are limited to: cats, non-aggressive breed dogs (no Dobermans, Rottweilers, Bulldogs, Dalmatians, etc.) that are less than 40lbs, and 10 gallon or less aquariums. There are fees associated with having a dog or cat. Please contact the property for up-to-date fee information. Pet policy does not apply to service animals. All violations will be fined, including the first offense.

The Cambridge: Pets are not allowed, except for service animals, and fish aquariums 10 gallons or less.
Do you have transportation to Auburn University?

University Village: UV is on the fastest Auburn University Tiger Transit bus route (“Longleaf”), which has busses approximately every 8-10 minutes during fall & spring semester, and busses every 12-15 minutes during summer semester. There are 2 transit stops Village – one in front of the clubhouse, and one at the mailroom. The busses drop off next to the campus green at the center of campus.

The Cambridge: We are located so close to campus that it is not serviced by Tiger Transit. Most of our residents walk to class daily, and the few that do need to catch a bus can do so at the nearby Mell Street stops.
How do you match roommates?
All residents of our properties fill out a roommate matching questionnaire as part of their application. This asks important questions to assist management in matching residents together. We prioritize based on those things which cause allergies, such as pets and smoking habits, and then review their full questionnaire to match residents together.
When will I receive my room assignments?
Room assignments, along with roommate information and move in day information are typically sent out around the beginning of July.
What happens if I don’t like my roommate?
Our staff is available to assist in roommate mediation to help resolve any conflicts that arise between roommates. Residents are also available to transfer, upon availability, for a nominal fee.
What do I do if there is an emergency?
Our property phones are answered 24 hours a day. An answering service or front desk staff pick up after hours and will be able to help you. For emergencies that require police, fire, or EMS response, call 911 first.
What do I do if I have a maintenance emergency?

Call your property's office phone immediately and we will contact the maintenance staff and have them respond. A maintenance emergency is when a situation…

Do you require renter's insurance?
No, we do not require renter’s insurance, but we strongly recommend that you purchase it from your insurance provider. Rental insurance will protect the items in your apartment in the event there is a fire, flood, or theft. Most students are covered under their parent’s homeowner’s policy.
May I decorate my apartment or bring my own furniture?

All Properties: You are more than welcome to decorate your apartment as you and your roommates see fit. You may also bring your own extra furniture. However, if you pay for a furnished unit, you may not remove any of our furniture without our consent because you are responsible for that furniture per your lease agreement.

University Village: You must receive permission from the office before you do any kind of painting. All colors must be approved by the manager. Before vacating your unit, we ask that you patch any holes larger than a nailhole and that you return the walls to our original color (available at Sherwin Williams on Opelika Rd.).

The Cambridge: Residents may not paint their walls or use any sort of anchor that will damages the wall surface (e.g. nails, picture hooks, etc). We highly recommend 3M's Command-Strips hooks.
May I sublease my apartment?

Essentially yes. We allow what are called “relets” where the person taking over the lease actually signs a lease with us and we cancel yours. This is a safer way of going about it for both you and us, as you do not have to act as a middleman for the rent money. Additionally, the new tenant will be responsible for any damages caused while they are here, not you.

There is a nominal fee for the right to have your lease relet. Additionally, the standard application and administration fees are required from the new tenant.
Can friends and visitors spend the night? Is there a limit on visitation?

University Village: Per our lease agreement a guest or visitor may not stay for more than 3 consecutive nights in your apartment and no more than 6 nights over the course of a month.

The Cambridge:
Do you provide parking for me and my guests?

University Village: Yes. UV issues each resident one parking hang tag at the beginning of each year. This allows the resident to park in any legal parking space on property (between white lines). If the parking hang tag is lost or removed you may purchase a new one for $75. Guests have designated guest areas (between yellow lines). Any vehicles found violating parking specifications will be towed at the owner’s expense. Per Auburn City Ordinance, University Village tows 24 hours 7 days a week.

The Cambridge: Parking for residents is available by reservation on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reserving a spot is done by filling out the Parking Addendum to the Lease, and by paying all applicable parking fees. We do not provide guest parking at The Cambridge.
